Magdalena is a Research Specialist in bioengineering and physio-chemical characterization of biomaterials. I specialize in research on hydrogels derived from natural polymeric materials with potential applications in the biomedical field. Currently, she is a scientist and academic teacher at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. She works on the use of hydrogels in areas such as biosensors, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and space engineering.

Magdalena Łabowska graduated with a master’s degree in engineering in Automation and Robotics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. She defended her doctoral thesis in bioengineering on personalized pharmaceuticals for controlled drug delivery, fabricated with additive manufacturing technology. She is interested in the properties of biomaterials, with a particular focus on hydrogels and their application in the biomedical field. Magdalena participated in the Baltic Universities Program, VI International Doctoral Training (2018, Rogów, Poland), and completed the Higher Education Didactic Course (2018, Wrocław, Poland). She is the author of many publications, has participated in numerous international conferences and is currently sharing her knowledge of C programming and mechanical engineering with students.

She is a co-founder of Innspace, an association engaged in the development of projects related to space engineering. Magdalena and members of Innspace have achieved the highest places at international competitions per created projects. Among them: 2nd place in the international competition for the design of the Mars lander “Red Eagle”, Mars Society, Los Angeles, USA; 2nd place in the International Telerobotic Mars Mission Competition for the design of the robotic mission to Mars ‘LATE’, The Mars Society, USA; Title of “Gold Winner” and “Winner” in the Future Mars Life Design Competition for the designs of the Martian city “Ideacity” and the Martian base “Dome” in the architecture category, China; Honorable mention on the “short list” of the best projects in the international First Colony on Mars competition for the Dome Martian Base project, Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As part of the team’s activities, she has participated in numerous lectures, workshops for children and adults, as well as exhibitions.
