On September 19, we had the pleasure of visiting Politechnika Wrocławska, where our experiment Space Volcanic Algae was presented in collaboration with the Wydział Inżynierii Środowiska. The event brought together researchers, students, and space enthusiasts for an inspiring lecture and discussion on biotechnology in space.

During the session, our team showcased the experimental hardware prepared in Wrocław, discussed the mission’s objectives, and emphasized the importance of algae in closed-loop life support systems. A highlight of the meeting was the presence of Dr. Sławosz Uznański, Polish ESA astronaut, who personally activated our experiment on the International Space Station during the IGNIS mission.

The event was an opportunity not only to share technical details but also to exchange insights and future perspectives with the academic community. Students and researchers engaged actively in the discussion, asking questions about the potential of space biotechnology and the broader implications for Earth.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Politechnika Wrocławska for hosting us and for their invaluable role in preparing the experiment. The support and engagement of faculty members and students have been essential in making this project a national success.
